Check out this event next Friday 4th May which looks at Southall On Film, something celebrated here at TheNakedSwami with a series of cinema and film-themed prints highlighting both the architectural aspects and film heritage of Southall, which once boasted a film studio.
Pictured is the Dominion Cinema during the heyday of cinema-going in the U.K, and when the building seemed very prominent compared to the surrounding architecture, as if an ocean liner had somehow been deposited in a suburban street.
The Dominion print is as close as possible in detail to the original design, minus the neon tubes visible in the picture, which must have looked spectacular at night.
If possible I'll be there too, handing out postcard prints but if not, you can purchase a set from the www.thenakedswami.com - or just click the blue "Shop Now" button at the top right of The Naked Swami Facebook page, link below.
